Silk Quilts
Silk is natural and 'breathable' which helps to create a unique sleeping environment which seems almost to thermostatically control the temperature under the duvet to suit your ideal sleeping temperature. It is also incredibly soft - softer to the touch than even the best goose down.
Furthermore it is naturally hypoallergenic, making it especially suitable for allergy sufferers and anyone who is seeking a natural filling in their duvet, and is believed by the Chinese to have many health benefits.
Our silk quilt has a filling of 100% new long fibre mulberry silk which is hand layered in a criss-cross pattern to make a floss which provides almost perfect evenness of warmth and comfort which eliminates 'cold spots'. Mulberry silk is heavier than other silks, but has superb thermal properties which means we can still make light but warm duvets.
The silk is held in place with our own quilting design to give the duvet a unique attractive appearance. The casing is a fine 40# count 100% cotton which complements the softness of the silk inside.
In order to retain the natural properties of silk, all production of silk for our quilts is carried out without using any chemicals, making it a very environmentally friendly product.
